Managing Director

Paula Rashio

She has developed large-scale projects with organisations such as Crown Resorts, Epworth Health Care and the Department of Education, transforming culture and building organisational and leadership capability. Her purpose-built solutions are designed to engage people, maximise talent and drive business performance. Her positive approach leverages strengths and generates learning and engagement that builds on itself, guiding people and organisations in upward spirals toward optimal performance and growth

Paula is a leading advisor on the practical applications of neuroscience, emotional intelligence and building key relationships. A recognised leader in the field of resilience, Paula has been engaged by many organisations to inspire in what she calls the primal need for connection – connecting with others and connecting with an organisational purpose.

Paula also has extensive experience in undertaking job analysis and design in preparation for major structural and personnel changes. Her experience in developing core competencies and assessing corporate learning and development requirements is well documented, as is her experience in leading complex and eclectic teams.

Paula is a highly experienced facilitator, instructional designer and learning and development consultant. Personal effectiveness is also included in this suite of attributes she delivers – however it doesn’t stand alone – it is incorporated in everything she does. Her commitment and knowledge comes from having found her calling.

Nicholas Oddy

Nick’s passion is leadership and innovation. Whether developing a leadership program, working as an executive coach, or teaching into a postgraduate business qualification he seeks to apply creative thinking in order to identify opportunities that deliver real value to individuals and organisations.

Nick’s experience includes working with a range of organizations to identify and address specific learning needs aligned to corporate strategy. His corporate clients come from diverse sectors such as emergency services, government, manufacturing and financial services. The application of learning into organisations, and the translation of theory into practice, is a capacity Nick has developed further through his role as an associate with both Swinburne and Monash Universities.

Nick is committed to creating learning environments that help individuals and groups to come alive. It is his firm belief that the leadership and coaching programs he creates are capable of animating the life-affirming qualities that reside in all of us. It is through meeting the challenges of life and work that we can discover who we truly are and what we are capable of becoming.

Nick will challenge you to examine your assumptions about business and to constantly seek to ‘find a better way’. He will encourage and you to uphold the personal and corporate goals you set in order that you and your organization may realise your potential.

Transformational Leadership

This workshop has been designed to challenge your thinking and realign your leadership focus. It will provide you with the leadership tools and beliefs that will become a foundation for your future success. The program connects the individual’s leadership journey with the roles of leading people and leading business strategy. By doing so it offers a broad context for transformational leadership as well as providing participants with the ongoing capacity to lead in complex and challenging environments. The program is typically delivered over a 6 to 12-month timeframe with participants from a common organisation or department forming a learning cohort. The program combines a number of elements required to foster leadership transformation including: A leadership diagnostic completed by all participants Face-to-face workshops outlining contemporary models of leadership with related content customized to the organisation. A relevant organizational project/s framing the context for transformational leadership Individual and small-group coaching Broad management and organizational support for the transformation agenda

Leading Teams

Leading Teams is highly applicable to leaders and teams who need to work together effectively to achieve a common goal. Teams often come together from a variety of backgrounds and experiences and the challenge of realizing ongoing cohesive performance is no small one. This program focuses on the qualities and characteristics of high performing teams as well as outlining the common dysfunctions of a team that leaders need to overcome.

Workplace coaching

Coaching occurs in a confidential one-to-one environment where leaders can disclose their leadership challenges and work towards achieving professional and personal goals. Our coaching programs are often supported with leading diagnostic and personality instruments that provide powerful insights and can help to outline an ideal development pathway. Leadership coaching is often provided as an additional resource to participants undertaking ongoing workshops and programs.

Developing Leadership Capabilities

This offering provides people with the tools needed to be an effective leader. The workshop focuses on leading self, leading other people and leading in a strategic context. The program showcases successful leadership approaches from past to present and provides participants with a template to define their own leadership principles and aspirations.

Emotional Intelligence

At its core, Learn for Life consulting prescribes to the overwhelming amount of research that clearly states the important role that Emotional Intelligence plays in the workplace (and in life). Often, we hear people ask “Why do really smart people fail at work? or “Why does that technically brilliant leader struggle to manage a high performing team? What is lacking is Emotional Intelligence and the skill to regulate and manage their emotions. The program has been built on current neuroscience which explains why we behave the way we do – especially when we are under pressure or in a crisis.
